5 DAYS IN SYDNEY AUSTRALIA- A TRAVEL MUST

In April, I turned the BIG 50, and to be honest, I had an extremely huge spiritual attack the week of my birthday. One thing after another kept happening. So, I decided to take it to God, and I prayed, “Lord, the enemy is trying to rob me of the blessing of entering my year of jubilee, I’m asking for restitution!” After praying, I started talking to my oldest daughter about making a two-day trip to replace the week of attacks with a memorable short trip. As I tried to think of places, I stopped and asked God, “Where do you want me to celebrate my 50th birthday.” Right away, loud and clear, I heard, AUSTRALIA! I knew that had to be God because although I travel a lot, it wasn’t on my travel bucket list. Yet, that’s where the Lord wanted to send me, and since I was still visiting my mom in California for a week with seven of my eight kids, that meant I would have a babysitter for the trip! I never thought of visiting Sydney, but before you knew it, I was there! And I must say, GOD KNEW! EVERY SINGLE DAY, I WAS SO GRATEFUL to celebrate my milestone birthday in such a gorgeous and luxurious place!

Before I left, I didn’t realize that Sydney, a city known for its stunning skyline and breathtaking coastal view is one of the world’s premier destinations for luxury travel. Despite its reputation for being on the pricier side, the city more than compensates with its wealth of experiences that blend urban sophistication with natural beauty. We met up with someone that my daughter met in Hawaii this year. We quickly hit it off.  It turned out that she and her sis had a birthday that same week. So it was a birthday extravaganza for five days.

Sydney’s urban walks blew my mind! The city is so charming and they felt so much safer than many other cities that I have been around the world. For someone who loves aesthetics and architecture, this is the city. I felt like I was on a movie set and all the people matched the scenery. The city colors were fall tones, the city colors reminded me of the City of Ember movie.

Day 1 Central Park Mall

Right after leaving the airport, we headed to the Central Park Mall to exchange some cash and pick up a few groceries for the week. The money was gorgeous!

In one word, Sydney is ARTSY.

The color combinations around the city were so pleasing.

And the view from our Shangri-La room was breathtaking! I highly suggest getting a combo package, flight, room, and rental car for the best deal. We got a great one.

We ended day one with dinner at Altitude at the hotel. It was 5 star experience! Fabulous time with fabulous friends.

Day 2 Soaking and Cityscape

After 22 hours of travel, a soak and sauna were a much-needed relaxation zone.

We spent a few hours walking around downtown and we fell in love quickly.

LV We didn’t buy anything but it was fun to look around.

We ended the night with dinner at the Sky Needle. Come hungry because it’s a full buffet of different selections from various regions. I would suggest going in the day so you can see the full view. It was a little overcast and dark, so while it was a great experience we didn’t get to see the full view that it had to offer being so high up

Day 3 Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House

I suggest strolling along the glittering waterfront of Circular Quay, where the majestic Sydney Opera House and the towering Harbour Bridge create a picturesque backdrop for any adventure.

And talk about blessings… A woman came up to me while we were touring the Opera House, and she offered me a FREE ticket to the 5th Symphony that was happening within twenty minutes of her putting it in my hand.

I wasn’t planning on watching a performance, but I quickly changed my mind! Thank you, God! Let me tell you it was like the sound of heaven’s orchestra. I enjoyed every minute of it, so I highly recommend it.

Day 4 The Smoky Mountains, High Tea, and The Hydro Majestic Hotel

When I saw the hotel had a high tea, I had to attend but they sold out months in advance and we just found out about the hotel days before! BUT GOD MADE A WAY!

I think I put on five pounds after this meal, but it was worth it!

The view from the hotel was amazing!

Day 5 Bondi to Coogee Beach

Whether you stop at Oakberry Acai for a treat, wander through the lush expanses of the Smokey Mountains, or take in the panoramic views from the coastal paths of Bondi to Coogee, each turn reveals another facet of Sydney’s allure.

Beyond its scenic beauty, Sydney’s neighborhoods pulse with a unique vibrancy. From the chic boutiques and cafes of Paddington to the high-end shopping of the Queen Victoria Building, there’s an array of experiences catering to those who appreciate the finer things in life. Each area of the city tells a different story, inviting visitors to indulge in a rich tapestry of cultural and culinary delights.

While luxury hotels abound, providing opulent stays with unparalleled views and world-class amenities, Sydney's true essence is found in the diverse people groups that make it a true melting pot of culture. Engaging with locals beyond fellow travelers can transform your stay into an unforgettable journey, offering insights and connections that transcend the typical tourist experience.

For those planning a visit, Sydney promises not just a trip, but a transformative experience. Its blend of natural wonders, cultural richness, and luxurious offerings makes it a destination like no other. Embrace Sydney’s vibrant spirit, and you'll find yourself not just visiting, but truly living and affirming the beauty of every moment.
